Newborn Photography Style Guide

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to sew and do crafts. As a little girl, my grandma taught me so much about sewing and my love for fabrics, textures, and COLOR has always run in my veins. I am a creative through and through. And now, I am just thrilled to create unique, one of a kind outfits, tiebacks, halos, and more for my newborn sessions!

Style tip #1: When preparing for a newborn photo shoot, I love to work with one color palate and then mix in lots of textures. This baby was all mauves, soft pinks, and grays. Baby is really the star. Too many patterns & colors bring the eye away from baby.

This sweet little girl modeled some of my newest tiebacks that I have for sale over in my etsy store, which I call Charis Seed Creative! I love to use succulents in my little baby headbands as well as sola flowers and other natural elements.

So this is part of what I do for you when you choose us for a newborn photo session. I create! We sit down together, and plan out the colors and I listen to your ideas and we make magic happen! I can turn daddy or grandpa's old shirt into an outfit that you keep in a shadowbox along with the amazing images we take. All carefully thought through.

Tip #2: You don't need fancy clothes! Wraps are sweet and cute! BUT if you want newborn clothing in your pics, leave the prints behind! Again, solid colors with lots of textures bring the attention back to baby's sweet face. For this reason, I love to hand make custom outfits for my clients ages 0-12 months! This little plum romper was custom made with a little tutu for this session! You can find other little outfits on my etsy store!

We take the utmost care in crafting your family newborn session with you. We believe that this moment is sacred. It goes by so quickly and we want to help capture this moment with details and quality that you will give to your son/daughter some day.
